So, do you have to have my completed registration form and payment in hand before I receive the nametags? Or, can I just send you an email requesting a nametag under the assumption that the nametag will be available at the door when I make my payment? Can I make my own nametag or will I be required to wear the nametag assigned to me?

4:06 PM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

Kerry,

I have sent in my payment for the event already. I mailed it to the P.O. Box indicated on the Registration form on 6/10/2005. You should have received it by now. Please, I would love to have a Colorful name tag as well:-)

I have a question about the nametag--I went by a different name in high school so my old nametag might make people think I really haven't changed my name (a new nametag will help). Plus my old name on my nametag will not fit, it's longer than what a normal sized nametag will allow. Will you have computer to print on the nametag with a shorter name? For example, can you print nametags there with a nametag printer if we want people to call us differntly? Or, maybe a sharpie pen to scratch off or change nametags would be great!!!!

If not, I understand, sorry to be difficult. My nametag is going to be imprortant to me because of my new name. Also I would like red, or at least no blue nametags.

11:52 AM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

Hi Kerry,

Personally, I am one of those people who are a little concerned about the nametags. First off, what pictures will be included on the nametags? Can I submit my own picture to be added to my nametag or will I be required to sport a pre-selected picture on my nametag? The poster before mentioned a "nametag printer"; that sounds great, I'm glad you will have one on hand for the nametags.

Next, will the nametags be attached to my outfit by a simple adhesive or will I be required to pin the nametag to my outfit? I don't really want to pin the nametag to my outfit for fear of ruining it. Will this be a nametag problem? Maybe I should bring my own nametag with adhesive instead.

Finally, I agree that the nametags should definitely not be blue nametags. An oyster, beige, or salmon hue would be nice, however.

I just don't want the nametags to be something I look back on and wish that it could have been done differently.

Nametags, nametags, nametags--OMG what's the deal with the nametags, ppl? Nametags are for ppl that don't know each other--we all graduated together--DUh! My nametag should read "U ALREADY KNOW ME!!" ... but that would be a BIG nametag.

I can see nametags for maybe like spouse nametags or girlfriend nametags or boyfriend nametags--but what if all of us that graduated in 1995 didn't wear nametags--? I guess some people will want to wear nametags just in case, but I don't think people should bring their own nametags becuase just like it used to be, someone will buy an expensive nametag and make us people with the cheaper nametags feel bad--and nametags shouldn't make ANYONE feel bad! I will feel bad, however, if someone comes up to me and says "Hi..." and looks at my nametag for a long time--I'll be all "Don't you be lookin' at my nametag!!!" and cover it up!!! LOL! Plus no one really will remember me so I might need my nametag--! I agree with everyone else about the nametags, pictures are the bomb and so are the colorz.

12:49 PM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

Ok, ok, ok....I don't want to be a "nametag jerk" but I would really prefer blue nametags. I know a couple of previous people have written about red nametags, bring your own nametags, big nametags, beige nametags, salmon nametags, and oyster nametags but let's be serious...salmon nametags? C'mon, that's just an ugly nametag. Blue nametags are common nametags. You can buy blue nametags in almost any type of store. They usually come with "Hello my name is.." written on the nametag to help the nametage reader better be able to approach and engage the nametag wearer. As for adhesive, I believe these nametags come with a self adhesive backing, but you might want to supply scotch tape to hold the nametags in place just in case someone's nametag droops, sags, or curls as many nametags tend to do. These standard blue nametags would be convenient for everyone...the nametag wearer, the nametag reader, and the nametag purchaser. However, it would also be great to have a nametag making contest. We could have prizes fot the most creative nametag, funniest nametag, worst nametag, best effort nametag, and most informative nametag.

Anyway, I just thought I would put in my two cents regarding the apparent nametag
situation. I know nametags can be a controversial topic but without an appropriate nametag I'll just feel lost.

I really wish I would have been made aware of the video that was going to be shown at the reunion. Of course that doesn't really shock me (I wasn't in the SHS "elitist" decision making crowd). Some of us had friends who shared good times. Those moments were caught on tape and film. And, now, just because I didn't have a letter jacket, I'm not included in anything 10 years later. Shocker.

So, I hope you enjoy the video. Personally, I'll probably find myself out back hooking up with some sleeze-bag while you watch your video.

Have a great day.

I cannot believe the amount of talk about the nametags. Who cares, it is a nametag!! I guess no one has "matured" like they say they have in the rest of the postings. Sad but true, I could care less if I have a nametag or not, everyone will remember me by the end of the night, and if they don't, I didn't need a nametag to find that out.

Pretty funny who ever used my name to post that message. I just hope you are there and I hope you are just as not popular now, as you probably were in highschool. That can be the only reason you are bashing what some people have worked very hard to make it enjoyable for US!!! I seriously doubt our classmates are doing this for any personal gain. I for one would never want to be in charge of this event, and I commend you that are working on this along with your career. All these anonymous postings are probably from people who do not have a job, a goal in life, and get their kicks off by trying to be "tough guys". Hope I offended you, come and see me at the reunion and we can discuss this more.

kerry,

oops! I know why I'm not on your database. I graduated in 1996 and thought this was for our reunion. Guess classmates.com led me wrong. I'm being deployed in October for Korea, and will miss mine. Is there any way I can come to your reunion? Will my nametag say 1995 or can you make it say 1996? PS If I need to bring anything or pay extra I will. Can you also have a nametag for my husband, Charlie?

thanks

You guys are hilarious. The nametag comments can't possibly be for real. I know for sure a couple of them were jokes, but if you were serious, then that's even funnier. This should be very interesting. It's starting to look like the fun part won't be seeing how much people have changed, rather how much some people have stayed the same.

are both on the list. Don't worry about bringing any money at all
actually. I will personally see to it that all of your drinks are comped as well. Just tell them that 'Kerry said I don't have to pay'. That should get you all fixed up. Can't wait to see you there!

And, I have special "Honorary Class of 95" nametags ready for both of you. I printed them on my nametag printer and use the Curlz font. Enjoy!

Kerry, is that true? That's great! Thank you, and thank you class of 95--what with the high price of gasoline and Charlie's child support times are tight. I hope that's the real Kerry--Charles won't be happy if this is a joke, and he's a little mean when he gets mad but he means well and is always sorry afterwards.

I just want everyone to know how much this means to me, Charlie, and Charles Jr--that reminds me, are children allowed? You probably already know the high price of baby-sitters these days (and if you have mini-nametags that would be great).

Funny, what is funny? Funny on this site is immature and the sign of unsuccessful people. Boo to ye who find the humor. Personally I aspire to be in the ranks of the "adults". According to this site you can find the definition of "adult" cross-listed in the dictionary under "banal".

Personally, I giggled while typing "banal" (figure it out).

I don't like banal. Banal hurts (my feelings). Dell appears to be a big fan of banal, however.

Maybe anonymous isn't one person...it's more of a movement. A movement of people refusing the banal and choosing to enter their own course of action.

WOW! Kerry, Toni, Annitra, DD and all the other Reunion Coordinators~ I commend you on your patience! The relentless, immature behavior, just for a "laugh" can be exhausting. This individual obviously enjoys his humor and assumes that others do, as well. Unfortunately, it appears that his audience isn't as appreciative~ maybe his night at the local comedy club cancelled his show, but he "really is a Star". People get paid big bucks for humor~ and I could easliy say, there are No scouts on this Blog...

Reunion Organizers~ Keep up the Good Work! You have all put so much time and effort into everything. Please do not let an episode like this damper your energy and enthusiasm. If people have questions regarding the Event, they have your address... Great Job, Team! MT

I just wanted to anonymously post a message bashing people that post anonymously.

...Oops, its already been done by the last five people.

Full circle irony...love it.

This would be my first anonymous post on this site. By reading through the list of comments, I saw two things. First, the anonymous poster/posters were just being goofy and for the most part, harmless. Secondly, everyone is up-in-arms declaring their maturity and assuming the anonymous poster is a loser, thus elevating themselves in status.

...Which all goes back to what is said about 10-year reunions...it is the reunion that people make it a point to show their maturity, talk about what they own, and gloat about their job.

Personally, I hope we all can have a good time this weekend without all that mess, strap on a good buzz, and not worry about all the crap that doesn't matter.

But, then again, what good is a posting site without a little friction...not much else to cover on this site besides a little rambling (and nametags)...it is "The Guestbook".

Cheers,

Funny how posting with a name hasn't resulted in any more legitimacy than posting anonymously. Aparantly, some of you haven't been on the internet long. This is how EVERY thread on the internet ends up. You act surprised. Besides that, you can't have forgotten who you went to school with. Did you expect differently? This was Sherman High, not Jesuit Prep. Have fun with this! There is some really funny stuff written here! Don't act like you are so much more mature than everyone else. People, we're damn near 30 years old. You can't tell someone they are immature when this is as mature as they are ever going to get. This IS mature, get used to it. I'm posting anonymously (because, even if I posted under my name you wouldn't be sure if it was me), but if you really want to know who I am, I'll be the one at the bar getting a hefty buzz on while you pretend to be disgusted by it. I'm going to have a blast! Are you?

Having only seen 10-year reunions in movies, well "Grosse Pointe Blank anyway", my conclusions about this weekend lead me to this:

1. There's gonna be some guy who was really quiet and a loner in high school show up (as a professional assassin, no-less) and hook up with a hot chick who may or may not have been hot in high school. She may or may not be a DJ at a radio station.

2. He'll almost get in a fight with the class buffoon (Tommy, anyone?) but end up just hugging him and sending him on his way.

3. While others casually splash corporate words like "synergy" and
"leverage" into their conversation, he'll mention how he "killed the president of Paraguay with a fork."

4. And he'll have a sidekick that will unsuccesfully try to get numbers from every single girl there. That guy is me.

Someone--please give this movie a happy ending...........

Those attendance estimates that were up earlier...Is that alumni, or is it alumni with their guests?

There was neither comedy nor bitterness in that last post--disgusting.

Please keep your mature and relevant posts to yourself.

You should be ashamed. I'm sure you'll be the one there admonishing people not to have "too many" tonight.

Sorry about that. It won't happen again.

Hey, who's renting a nicer car than they really drive? I can't wait to be impressed!

3:1 odds that Garret trys to hook up with Peyton Manning. David maybe you could get in on that...

Pick out the gay folks by the music:
If men rush to the floor when they play "YMCA" or "We Are Family" then they are definitely playing for the wrong team. Tight leather pants might be another clue.

I'm renting a Ford Festiva to come in so that nobody has to know that I ride DART to work every day and only recently bought my first bicycle. The Sherman education only got me to head fry chef.

Is anyone going to be posting photos from the reunion???

8:07 AM
Anonymous Anonymous said...

We will be doing something with the photos in the next week or so. Some Photos will go into the directory that will be going out.
we will probablly post the pictures on Snapfish.com for you to view and order the pic you'd like. they are like .12 cent to do it that way, the same price if I had to print them myself. so that way if you see a pic you like you can just order that one. WE will contact you as soon as these are available.

Can you choose to purchase a directory now? I didn't send in the five bucks when i registered.

The reunion came and went. The smart folks came out Friday, but didn't come Saturday because a $40 finger food buffet was decidedly dumb. Anyhow, I saw several folks from the "Baptist Mafia" and other non-partying groups guzzling down mixed drinks. No one passed out though one fella was cut off from further drinks. He was blitzed. Anyway, had fun. Good luck to all and I look forward to seeing you in another 15 years.

well fyi the 35 dollar charge was to cover all expenses including the finger food buffett, and the nice area in which the reunion was hosted...if you can do better in 10 years....go for it.

Do you think things get printed and mailed and decorations are all free?
